People... Why do you come into a restaurant on the telephone? Is it because you don't want to be greeted, or is it that you want someone to help at that time just so you can be rude or act as though you don't hear them? Didn't someone teach you that it is impolite to speak to someone who is on the phone??

Why should you get off the phone just because you are entering a restaurant. Intelligent people can multi-task. As a matter of fact, you can use hand signals to get seated at a restaurant. The hostess should use all of her skills to get the job done.
It is simply rude to continue a phone conversation while someone is waiting to assist you. Its just a matter of simple manners. Use them if you have them. Get some if you don't.
